As the steps grow louder, you start to think about your decision.
YOU (silently): Please don't be an eldritch being, please don't be an eldritch being...
The creature that turns the corner looks like... a woman who looks like is about to go to a job interview.
YOU: Oh, uh, hello!
Her: Hello...
She enters the elevator, which then decends.
None of you had pressed a button, which you found weird.
As all elevator rides are, you both awkawrdly stand still while waiting for the ride to be over.
After what seemed eternety, you reach your destination. It looks like an office, similar but different to the one you were just in.
???: Hello... you two? You know that I'm only interviewing one of you, right?
YOU: I'm not here for the interview.
???: Then you should be the one who asked for the interview, right?
Her: Yes, sir.
???: Ok, follow me. And you... don't break anything. I'm watching you.
Both of them go into another room. You can't hear anything of what they're saying.
After some time, the interviewer comes back to see you.
???: Anyways, it's your turn now.
YOU: What? I didn't sign up for this!
???: Follow me, NOW.
You decide to follow him, as to not make him angrier. Instead of going inside a room, he goes trough various corridors showing many areas of the building.
YOU: Soooo.... what is this?
???: This is the Office. It's where we oversee everything everywhere. Not the tiniest speck of dust is hidden from us. You, in fact, have 4 unique employees observing your every step.
As you pass trough the halls, you see many humans, animals, plants, monsters and objects working, some watching cameras, some making photocopies, some on the phone and some on break.
YOU: But... why?
???: That is confidential. What I can tell you has alredy been told or showed to you.
YOU: But I barely even remember anything! I only remember that I have been going from many different worlds... many looked like games, many looked like scary mazes, many looked like scenes from my childhood...
???: I'm not exactly talking to you. If the person that I'm talking about hasn't figured it out yet, then they are quite stupid.
YOU: ...What?
???: You will remember sometime. It could have alredy happened or maybe is even happening right now.
